Background

Earlier this term a student in my Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer course asked me to contribute to a beautiful project.

Ashleigh Cunningham (TRON 2028) is a member of the Project Sunshine Queen’s Chapter a student-run group dedicated to supporting pediatric patients facing medical challenges by providing social, educational, and creative programming. Operating under the national Project Sunshine Canada organization, the chapter conducts on-campus events and fundraising to bring joy and normalcy to hospitalized children.

I said “Yes, of course!” without really thinking about what my involvement might look like.

A couple of weeks later I found myself mic’d up in a small library room staring at 3 chicken wings completely covered in very, VERY, VERY hot sauces. The rest is history and I will let you watch the full video below.

I want to take a minute to thank Ashleigh and Phoebe who AMONG all their commitments in very demanding programs find the time to volunteer in such beautiful initiatives. It is very commendable and I congratulate to the both of you! As I mentioned at the end of the video, this was a very small price to pay for such a wonderful cause.

THANK YOU!!
